So Many Ideas, So Little Time

I have so many things I want to post about and and just haven’t been able to get to them! I want to write about having finally sent off my level 2 projects to the Craft Yarn Council: the new puppet I’ve worked on with the ‘helpful’ guidance from a four-year-old: more work from my students: an emoji puppet I’m almost done with: my balcony that I never use but was excited about when we bought the house 18 years ago and how I might finally start using it: what I might do with all the swatches I’ve accumulated: how I want to rearrange my office so I can open my window and so many other topics.

Instead, I have found one excuse after another to dilly dally.

Reading is never to be considered dilly dallying!

I’m back at work and just haven’t gotten into the swing of doing things before and after I go to work each day. We’re also doing fixes to our house that have waited years in the making. Painting the outside, replacing our fence (that’s literally falling apart), trying to figure out how to landscape our yard, re-screening our windows so I can actually open them without being overrun by bugs, and replacing our front door (there are actual holes at the bottom of the steel door that have rusted away).

Let’s not talk about updating all the light fixtures that are a throw back to the 80’s and trying to do something with the kitchen and bathrooms that might actually look nice. We have a nice house but it’s in high need of a makeover. We are finally in a position to get some things done but it’s a lot to think about.

Did I forget to mention that my 28-year-old daughter is moving back in so she can finish up two years of college? We need to get a room ready for her and move out my tall book shelves full of books and and everything else that’s in that room and find other places for them. I’m looking forward to having her living here while she finishes with school but I’m not looking forward to getting that room ready.

But I still want to continue my writing and it’s not like there’s no time, there is. I just have to prioritize it. I guess I’m blaming my pre-occupied mind and not the lack of time for why I haven’t been keeping up with my blog. I’ve still been crocheting, I just haven’t been posting about it. I haven’t made any new videos in months! I really wanted to make more videos. I even bought a new microphone for it. That has to wait until I rearrange my office, though.

What’s probably going on is that I have so much to do and so much going on that I look at the next task and then tell myself it can wait a little longer. I’m an avid reader but reading has been on the back burner. But guess what? I’m currently reading a book (or two) instead of doing what needs to be done. Ahh, but it’s a good book. 🙂

Ok, that’s not the book I’m reading but it’s a good reminder.

  1. Oh I hear you Twinternet Sister – it is EXACTLY the same for me lately. Well except for daughter moving back in and household renovations. So at least you have a good excuse!! I have no idea where my motivation went off to. I’ve been crocheting like a mad woman though so I guess I’m doing something. Here is a great big virtual hug for you – (((((hug))))) – your twin soul over here on the east coast knows how you feel!! 😀

    • Ah thanks Tammi, I felt that hug all the way over here. 🙂 I sounded a bit angsty, didn’t I. LOL I just have so much to say and it all got log jammed! LOLThings are moving along though, and I’m tackling things one step at a time and they’re getting done. I even finished level 2 and had my phone interview. I need to write up a post about that. 🙂 Here’s a hug bag at you and hopefully we can have a virtual dinner soon. I love your desserts. 🙂
