One of my very favorite book series of all time is the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. After years of claiming I would make characters from the books, I finally did it. And here they are, in their very own photo shoot: Harry Dresden, Bob the skull, Mister the cat, and Mouse the temple dog.
Some of my favorite characters from Jim Butcher’s Harry Dresden series aren’t human at all. Bob the Skull is hilarious, always giving Harry a hard time, but he is super helpful in keeping him alive. The skull is inhabited by a spirit entity and is one of the best things in the books.Continue reading
I don’t know why I waited so long to make a crochet version of one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite book series. I kept saying I was going to make Harry Dresden from the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, but never got around to it…until now!
Instead of crocheting his head in the round, I went with making a triangle shape and then crocheting around that.Continue reading
My daughter moved out a few months ago, and she set up a new office in her apartment. I have to say, I was very impressed with how she set it up. I had office envy! I also was touched but how she displayed all the crochet items I’ve made for her over the years. It brought back memories as some of them went back years. Some were made so long ago, I had completely forgotten about them. I didn’t photograph everything, but here are some of what she displayed.
Continuing the Christmas theme again (last one I promise!), I had a lot of scrap yarn, and I thought it was perfect for little ornaments. I let the kids help me pick out what I should make. We were looking at ideas on the internet, when they all saw these little cheeseburgers. Even though I I kept trying to lead them to other projects, they were insistent upon the burgers. I capitulated to the will of the people and made them their burgers.
I had one little boy who kept telling me that he really really really wanted the burger. I told him that when he made it to prize-box (he was close), he could have it. I gave him little odd jobs to earn stars for our prize-box so he could take it before Christmas. He made it and then he chose something else of course. Oh well. 😂
After making what they wanted, I made a few crocheted stocking ornaments.
Now we were all happy.
