Liebster Award

Screen Shot 2018-07-14 at 10.02.59 PMMany thanks to Linda from for nominating me for the Liebster Award! I am very honored. Linda has a fabulous website that’s all about diy. I use many of her fun ideas with my students at work. She is very inspiring. 🙂

The questions asked

1) What is your favorite color?

Purple! Purple! Purple!

Yolanda means violet flower. My birth stone is an amethyst. My month’s flower is a violet. My favorite color could only be purple. It was destined.

2) Cats or Dogs?

I guess if I had to pick, I’d say cats, even though I haven’t had one for a very long time. Although I love the dogs I’ve owned and those of family,  I don’t go all goo goo for other peoples’ dogs. Cats though, there’s just something about them. If I weren’t allergic, I would probably have some cats.

Two Kitties I’ve owned in the past.

Look at those eyes! This was a very naughty kitty but he was beautiful.

I loved this kitty. The best mouse catcher ever!

3) Which is your ideal place: Beach, Lake, Ocean, Forest and why?

All of the above! There is something magical about all of them. When I’m able to get to any of them, I love it!

4) Favorite Scary Movie?

Well, I don’t tend to watch scary movies all that much but even so, it’s hard to pick just one. I’m going to reach back in time and pick The Lost Boys from when I was a teenager. I’m going to pick the Underworld series as my favorite group of movies and I’m picking Upgrade and A Quiet Place as a tie for my favorite 2018 movie. See how I cheated there?  😉

5) One Wish?

That I could have more wishes? Ok, that’s a little too much cheating. My make-believe wish would be something I wanted as child if magic were real. I wanted the ability to be able to ask a question, any question, and get a real answer. Kind of like a magic 8-ball but with all the answers in the universe. Like if I wanted to know the truth about something, I could just ask. I know, bonkers, but that’s what I wanted when I was a kid and I think it would be a cool super-power to have.

But a real wish would be that I figure out what I want to be when I grow up. 🙂

6) Dream Vacation?

Anywhere where hubby and I can be together is a dream vacation, preferably in Hawaii.

7) Saver or spender.

I’m a saver but I love getting something I need or really want for next to nothing or at the best price possible. That’s why I love Linda’s blog. Most of her projects can be done on the cheap.

8) Which season do you prefer? (Spring,Summer, Fall, Winter)?

Gotta go with spring. Summer is so hot! Spring is the perfect combination of nice weather and beautiful nature as everything is sprouting.

9) Where’s your happy place?

Recently it’s been my backyard where I’m pretending I know how to garden. I’ve been attending plant trading events and I’m coming home with all these succulents that I now have to do something with. I’ve been planting and planning and trying to keep plants alive. It’s still a work in progress but I’ve been enjoying going out to  the backyard and sitting in my comfy lawn chair, listening to music or a podcast and looking out at the park that’s behind our house. Usually my daughter’s dog jumps in my lap and we enjoy the outside together. It’s fun thinking about all the things I can do with the yard.

Attempts at beautification 🙂

10) Why did you start your blog?

I started my blog so I can see if crochet is something I can turn into the thing I do when I grow up. 🙂

Thanks again Linda for nominating me!
