One happy student walked away with this YouTube pillow. Unfortunately it wasn’t the student who asked for it. I didn’t think anyone else wanted it so I threw it in the prize box. I know I said I wouldn’t take anymore personal requests BUT I’m telling myself it isn’t a personal request just because I’m making a new one and hiding it until this student makes it to prize box and then I’ll sneakily put it back in. I’m innocent I say!
It’s super simple to make so I’m almost ashamed to call it a Freebie Friday pattern but still…here it is.
Pillow
Make two rectangles in red. I used Caron One pound yarn but you could use any yarn in red.
The one pictured here has 24 rows made up 30 single crochets per row. I chain one at the end of each row. You could also make more rows with more stitches per row if yo want a smaller or bigger pillow.
The Triangle
Row 1: Ch 12, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn (11 sc)
Row 2: sc in each st across, ch 1, turn (11 sc)
Row 3: sc2tog (decrease), sc in next 7 sts, sc2tog (decrease), ch 1, turn (9 sc)
Row 4: sc in each st across, ch 1, turn (9 sc)
Row 5: sc2tog (decrease), sc in next 5 sts, sc2tog (decrease), ch 1, turn (7 sc)
Row 6: sc in each st across, ch 1, turn (7 sc)
Row 7: sc2tog (decrease), sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog (decrease), ch 1, turn (5 sc)
Row 8: sc in each st across, ch 1, turn (5 sc)
Row 9: sc2tog (decrease), sc in next st, sc2tog (decrease), ch 1, turn (3 sc)
Row 10: sc3tog (this is a decrease of all the stitches left) (1 sc)
Fasten off leaving a long tail and sew on to one of the red rectangles, centered in the middle.
Put your rectangles together and single crochet around both pieces, placing 3 single crochets in the corners. Leave an opening for stuffing and single crochet closed. Weave in all ends and you have yourself a pillow. 🙂
Just because it’s simple to do doesn’t make it any less cute!
